Yuletide and dSSS!
My Yuletide story:
Our Lady Of The Upside Down (3033 words) by Anonymous
Fandom: Hadestown (Musical)
Rating: Mature
Warning: Author Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings
Relationships: Hades/Persephone
Characters: Hades (Hadestown), Persephone (Hadestown)
Summary: How Hades and Persephone met. A retelling of the myth, set in the world of Anais Mitchell's Hadestown folk opera.
It's got an interesting first-person Persephone voice that really works for me! I love how the first and last lines lead into the songs, and it also has the gritty, post-apocalyptic feeling that canon has. Thank you so much, Anonymous!
My dSSS story:
Notes from the Raven (2569 words) by Anonymous
Fandom: due South
Rating: General Audiences
Warning: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Benton Fraser/Eric Kitikmeot, Benton Fraser/Ray Kowalski
Characters: Benton Fraser, Eric Kitikmeot, Ray Kowalski, June, Innusiq
Summary:
Dear Ben:
Are we still friends?
Eric
I love the feeling of family and community in this fic, and that the connection between Ben and Eric goes way back. And it's an epistolary story, too, which I love! Thank you so much, Anonymous. Hmm, if I'm to guess who wrote it, I would tentatively say primroseburrows. But there are lots of people in the exchange this year whose writing styles I don't know, so I'm not at all sure.
I think my dSSS story should be guessable, though I don't think it's obvious. My Yuletide story is quite typical of me and you should be able to guess that it's mine if you happen to come upon it, but that's a bit like finding a needle in a haystack. Do feel free to guess at my stories! : )
