December meme: due South pairings (for china_shop)

[personal profile] china_shop asked: What are a) your favourite Due South pairing and b) a pairing you would never ever write?

a) I guess the obvious answer to this is Fraser/Kowalski. That's the pairing I've written the most, and the pairing I've read the most, and the pairing I fell in love with and have loved through my years in the fandom. That said, my writing for the pairing is kind of running dry. Like, I do have a few fic ideas and WIP:s for them, but those fics focus more on other things, like worldbuilding. They're not the kind of starry-eyed first time fics that you write when you're first getting into a fandom.

The pairing I really would like to read fic for right now and that I would like to write more for if I only had good plot ideas for them is various combinations of Bob/Buck/Caroline. I just feel like there's so much potential there, and I want to read all the epic fics about them! And I think I've even gotten over my reluctance to read about them having sex (probably induced by identifying with Fraser, who obviously would not want to think about them having sex *g*).

b) Well, I guess I could cheat my way out of this question--like, I would never ever write Benton Fraser/Bob Fraser, or whatever [insert random other incest pairing or completely implausible pairing]. But out of the pairings which actually are being written, let's face it, if I have not written K/V or F/V yet, I am never going to do it. Although I have written two very short bits of F/K/V, so there's that. I love you, Vecchio, I do--I am just not good at writing you. And I can definitely enjoy K/V and F/V in the hands of the right author, but they're not pairings I'll write myself. But hey, I've written over twenty dS pairings in total, some of which are the only existing fics for that pairing, so I feel like I'm pretty versatile in general. : )

That is an impressive list of pairings! I'm sad that you don't feel the urge to write Vecchio, though, just because I love your writing and I would be super interested to see what you'd do with him. But that is not a criticism! I definitely know what you mean about having some characters and pairings that just don't call to you to be written. :-)
