Moving woes

Fuck, I'm tired. I've spent about a week packing and cleaning the shared house that we have to leave because it's going to be sold. It is a big house. We've been lots of people to share the work, but still, it took so much time and I'm so fucking tired. I do not understand where all the stuff comes from?? Like, I left the place with pretty much the same amount of stuff I had when I came, but apparently irresponsible previous occupants had left stuff behind that we had to cart away. They'd been told to come and take care of it, but they did not, and apparently we could not bring enough social pressure to bear upon them to make them do it. I hate this kind of behavior.

But now it is DONE. *mentally washes hands of it*

My stuff is at the new apartment--I'm so glad I paid a moving company to move it for me. I have found my two housemates, and I can unpack my stuff at my own pace. We won't have electricity until Monday, so I have now crashed at my parents' house. They are not at home, and I am going to rest for two days. I am looking forward to that SO MUCH. All I am missing is someone to give me a backrub and a hug.

Well, I am also doing various administrative stuff today, but after all the physical work of moving/cleaning, I find that restful too.

Moving is the worst! Although having movers helps a lot. Hooray for a rest! I hope the new place is good.

Moving sucks, yeah. I'm grateful I have the economic resources to pay for movers! And I am enjoying my rest--I just went down to the lake for a swim. : )

I slept eleven hours tonight! It was great. And I'm getting some stuff done on the computer, too.

But you have a new place! And moving companies are SO WORTH IT! I did that last time and I am still pleased - it was 4 years ago ;)

I just feel so helpless when someone is behaving badly and there's just not a way of putting enough pressure on them to make them stop. : (

If I hadn't used a moving company my back would be hurting so bad right now. So worth it!

Ugh, i *hate* cleaning up Previous Place when I move. I've MOVED ON emotionally so it''s
like if right after breaking up with somebody you had to give them a bath.

Ahaha. Well, I finished the cleaning up of the last place before I started unpacking my stuff at the new place, so at least it comes in the right order!
