17 Feb - 175 words on an added bit for one of the pieces I worked on earlier in the week.

Heya, long time!
Checking in for day 14-18 (sorry, CB took all my focus 💙):
In that time, I have written and posted 2 fics, watched 2 movies for fannish purposes, written a total (so far) of 54 comments on Chocolatebox works, made 2 posts of recs, one for my gifts and one for 38 favorites in the collection so far (https://hogwartstoalexandria.dreamwidth.org/31484.html), opened noms and sign-ups for my Silver Streak Flash (characters 50+ focus) and started approvals for that, listened to the audiobook version of Daddy-Long-Legs after reading a great little fic for the book in CB, and voilà! And ofc my usual binging of shows and podcasts 🥰

Oh and I plan to do a mix of the same + focus on my IPQ fic again today so, that's 18 squared!

Days 16, 17 + 18: several hundred words of reviews, review answers and blog post prep, plus notes on various small WIPs and additional scenes in preparation for the fanfic fest in March I mentioned.

I wrote a few hundred words on Sleeping Beauty, which I have been avoiding because I've fallen flat on my face in so many earlier drafts... but it's the only thing I really want to write right now, so I guess here we go again.

Day 18: I've just got my

once_upon_fic assignment, so I decided to take a break from my WIP today and do some brainstorming and idea-scribbling for that. I think it's going to be a fun challenge :D

18: More book reviewing!

On Day 18, I wrote 353 words of what might become a new original short story. I wanted to knock some words out before I finished work for the day, and I had a quiet few minutes to do it. I have editing and submitting work to do, and I will, but in 25 minutes, I have a week's break, and I will have plenty of time soon to do all the market research, editing, etc., that I need to do. So, an alibi fragment that may someday grow up to be a story. :-)

Feb 18th - 1087 words, a challenge fic, and edits on a fic for posting. Woohoo!

A busy day; I got 400 words. Total wordcount: 17,400.

Day 18: No work today, so I did a ton of writing. 1885 new words of actual story, plus ~1380 words of character notes for myself. I also worked on my outline by rearranging a couple scenes, and used K.M Weiland's advice to label each one with a goal, conflict, and outcome. I found this hugely helpful for fixing scenes that were boring/aimless.

My second draft is still very messy, (and more like a first draft in many places,) but that's ok! I want to get to the end of the story, then go back to look at everything as a whole when it's done.

Do you have any advice about finding writing partners? I feel like I'm slowly but surely approaching the point where my novel would benefit from a second set of eyes, but I don't know how one goes about finding these eyes.

Day 18: Finished up meta, wrote some fic. :) Might've finally untangled the emotional issue in this fic that I'd been stuck on, too!

19th: I did the fic writing stuff I meant to do (read through yesterday's words, tweaked them and sent them to beta) and then left about a dozen long meta comments. *collapses in exhaustion and sore wrists* :-)
