List of (mostly) unrelated things

1) I only have very little left to make a finished first draft. Why is that last little bit so difficult? Augh.

2) Today I performed "Pancho and Lefty" on a stage! \o/ The school where I take singing lessons had a sort of promotion drive, and had some students perform. It was fun and went well.

3) Am I the only one already thinking about Yuletide? It'll be my first year, and I've already decided on two fandoms that I'm going to request (they are quite obscure, and I don't even know of any existing fic). I am already writing the Yuletide letter in my head. Ahem.

4) I'll be out doing some biology fieldwork next week. \o/ Basically, I got asked by an acquaintance who had a hard time finding anyone who was both available and good enough in botany, and the biology department will hire me from the math department for a few days. It will basically involve working 10-12 hour days out on the islands of the Norrbotten archipelago (that's the northernmost part of the Baltic Sea). The hostel in Piteå seems to have internet, though, so I shouldn't be completely gone.

I've been having vague Yuletide thoughts for months. I think it's a sign of fannishness. ;)

Being a mostly monofannish writer, I expect a moment of panic when I realize that I've committed myself to writing something that's not due South. But I hope it'll be worth it.

Weird to think of someone not from the American West singing Pancho and Lefty. Hee!

Heh, my sister and I sing a lot of bluegrass/country/American folk music together. (As well as a lot of Swedish folk music, of course.)

Anyway, I love "Pancho and Lefty". It's so ambiguous--like, did Lefty betray Pancho, and if so, why? I'm actually going to request that song as a Yuletide fandom. I think it could make for awesome fic.

Yeah, there are such a lot of holiday exchanges. I didn't sign up for podbang, but I think I can manage both YT and DSSS.
