About halfway through recording it, I saw that she had a podfic of "American Way" on her fannish wish list, so I have to confess it wasn't originally intended as a present for her. I actually hadn't read the story. I know, I know, but I'm pretty new to the fandom and have been getting nearly all of my fic via podfic. So I may be the only person in the universe that it was new to.

And I'd forgotten how funny the story was. Yeah, there's lots of (truly excellent) sex in it, but I think I actually had the most fun reading the comedy parts.
