I was inspired to write some non-fiction yesterday, which I was quite happy with (an article for a newspaper, about the history of the drainage of forested wetlands in Sweden and why for multiple reasons we should be restoring them). Dec 19th - I had high hopes for today, but only got 550 words, a triple and a 250-word drabble, because I put in an order for firewood logs this morning and they said they could deliver this afternoon. All my time went into shifting logs. Maybe tomorrow I can get back to the festive smut...

It is, but it wasn't on the project I was supposed to be writing, I had to go for quick drabbles instead. Still, I'm stocked up with logs for Christmas, which I wasn't expecting. Thought I'd have to wait until late December/early January, so I'm not complaining.

Day 19: 123! I think my brain was all wrung out from grading.

How exciting to contemplate a newspaper article! I am fascinated by the idea of forested wetlands; it makes me think of mangroves, but obviously they must exist in cooler climates too.

No wonder your brain was wrung out after all that grading! Good job writing at all, under the circumstances.

Perhaps I'll run the article through machine translation and post it on DW under lock, if people are curious… Our forested wetlands mostly have spruce, birch, willow, and alder.

Day 19: Took a break from focusing on writing to do some art! Replied to comments, made some comments, did some text RP, posted about exchange fic that revealed in the last few weeks, and otherwise got some non-prose words in. :)
