I know, right? I'm going to save that one up instead of reading it right away.
How are your holidays going? I'm with my parents, and basically I'm spending time with them and with my sister, going on long walks with the dog, eating lots of food and glutting myself on dSSS and Yuletide.
Hello! Given that you leave me some of the best feedback (more than once now, too), and that I still go back to the podfic you made of my "Rough Diamond" (I love that you say things differently than I would; it's like this work I knew inside out suddenly acquired the power to still surprise me, and that's shiny and wondrous), I'd like to friend you, if you don't mind. It would make stalking you wonderfully convenient!
I am so glad to hear that you still listen to that podfic! I just love recording things that go back to oral storytelling traditions.
I am mostly in due South fandom, but occasionally I write things inspired by fairy tales or folk ballads or stuff like that. And I do a lot of podficcing. Hmm, I recognize your name from Firefly recs on crack_van, right? I do love Firefly, but never got into the fandom. Still, I'm pretty sure I've clicked on some of those recs. : )
Oral storytelling traditions are, indeed, always fun. It's really nifty for me how the experience of the story changes with different tellers.
I love due South; I have never written in the fandom, but I read there occasionally. And obviously, I am all for things inspired by folk ballads and fairy tales. As for myself, I am very multifannish; I have written in more than a dozen fandoms, and I still think of them all as active. But yes, I am probably best known over in the Firefly corner of lj, largely because I take so many shifts on crack_van (nicely spotted, by the way!). I also do original fiction, sometimes from reworked fairy tales, sometimes in original fantasy or sci-fi settings.
