Updates, fannish and otherwise

luzula1) I am down in the south with my mom and the family dog for a week, in the cottage my mom inherited from her parents. I am the fifth generation in that house, which is pretty cool. Everything is green and flowering and generally much more mellow than up north, and I am enjoying myself (although also doing some work).
2) I'm listening to Indiana by George Sand and enjoying it. Why have I never read George Sand before? There's a beautifully written bit where a man who's had an affair with a woman below his station rationalizes that really, he's not going to marry her because it wouldn't be in her best interest. And here's another (unrelated) quote: "Political moderation had become a part of the national character, like courteous manners, and it was the same with the first variety of courtesy as with the second: it served as a mask for secret antipathies, and taught them how to fight without scandal and publicity." This was written in 1830's France, but I can definitely see the relevance to today's political climate in Sweden.

fan_flashworks I made a Swedish translation of my semi-original fic Under the Mountain. It's a post-apocalyptic fairy tale, about 3,100 words, gen, rated PG-13.
4) Am doing a collaborative podfic, and it's so much fun! Eeee, it's going to be great. *anticipates* Relatedly (yes, there is a relation) I have fallen in love with the song Cold Missouri Waters. ♥ ♥ ♥ I must've listened to it ten times today.
