Things people made for me
Feb. 9th, 2009 09:02 pmSo, I got gloves in the mail from
j_s_cavalcante today! I love the color so much (which she predicted I would), and they're also very soft and warm. So much joy! Thank you, JS. *hugs* I'll wear them tomorrow in my cold office.

Some time ago
cybel made a cover for the podbook of my story Civilization:

Isn't it beautiful? When I saw it, you could probably hear me squee all the way to the US. Sled dogs get to me every time, and I also love how it looks like something inbetween a photograph and a painting. I love the font she used, too. Basically, I could look at that cover all day.
Also, today I got an email from the senior scientist who runs the Arctic research station where I worked last summer. He'd just sent in a grant proposal, and offered me a month's fieldwork up there this summer if I wanted it (assuming they get the grant, of course). YES I WANT IT. It'd be pretty much all botanical inventories, which I love. Plus, helicopter flying, because some of the inventories are up on peaks. Now I just need to convince the head of the math department to give me a month's leave. Which won't be popular for various boring financial reasons, but I'll go down on my knees and beg (uh, at least metaphorically) if I have to.
