My weekend
Feb. 23rd, 2009 10:41 amThis weekend, there's been a folk music festival in my town, and my sister has been visiting. So, I've been pretty busy, but it's been a lot of fun.
The festival was mostly Swedish folk music, but there was also a kletzmer band, a Chilean guitarist and some other stuff. My sister and I performed on the small stage; it went well, except that my voice came out weaker than hers in the loudspeakers, probably because I sang too far from the mike. Arrgh, I wish the sound technician had told me this. Also, there was lots of folk dancing. You're probably picturing square dancing now, but Swedish folk dancing isn't at all like that--the most common dance is called the polska and is a couple dance where you hold each other close and spin around pretty quickly.
Yesterday, my sister and I watched CotW on the housemate's big screen TV with surround sound. Yum. She has now watched the whole of due South, and I'm pondering if I should introduce her to the slash. She did think the sledding into the sunrise was very sweet. Maybe I could start her off on a PG-13 rated post-CotW F/K story? *tries to think of a good one*
I've been completely neglecting
ficfinishing. Oh, well.
Also: I was really touched to see that I'd been mentioned on the Valentine's Day love meme. I hadn't expected that at all. Thank you so much, whoever you are.
