I posted a flashfic recently, but held off on linking it here because I wanted to get the badge I'd earned: I now have a Female Characters badge, woohoo!

This is for making four works featuring a female character. I've actually done far more than that, though: out of the nine flashworks I've done so far, only one is from the POV of a man (but you can only count works that were made since the badge was instituted). Anyway, I was a bit surprised at this. It's not like I was planning to make female-centric works--it just turned out that way. My tenth work, which is on the way, is also from a female POV. Huh.
Title: You Find It When You're Least Looking For It
Fandom: due South
Pairing: Benton Fraser/Janet Morse
Rating: NC-17
Length: 3,250 words
Summary: Janet was so used to having to work hard for what she and the kids needed, having to play the vulnerable woman or the tough bounty-hunter by turns, that Fraser caught her off-balance. He simply offered the help she needed, and she just wasn't used to that.
Notes: What might have happened if Bob hadn't interrupted that kiss. Thanks to
andeincascade and
malnpudl for beta reading! (Special thanks to Mal for telling me I needed more build-up.) This is only the third fic ever with this pairing that I know of--there's one by
sdwolfpup and one by
llassah. Please tell me if you know of any others!
