Have some Swedish Christmas music!
Dec. 24th, 2012 11:26 pmMerry Christmas to those who celebrate it! My family does, but in a purely secular way where the food is arguably the most important element (besides gathering the family together, obviously). We had a pretty good Christmas Eve (in Sweden, that's when you have the main celebration).
So, have an off-the-cuff recording of my sister and I singing a Swedish Christmas song. Stick around until the third verse; that's where you get the interesting harmonies. I'm the one singing the lower harmonies in the first verse while my sister does the melody, then I sing an "ornamented" version of the melody in verse two while my sister does the droning tone, and then we sing the simple version (my sister) and the "ornamented" version (me) of the melody together.
Listen here.
