Ha, talk about low output compared to previous years! My podfic output is down to 11 hours, compared to 21 hours last year, and my fic output is down to 3,800 words, compared to 53,700 words last year. Um. I blame unrequited love and increased political/environmental organizational work. Although I did also write 11,000 words of Big Bang fic that didn't get finished, so there is that.

I'm not doing the meme questions, since there are so few works (ask if you have questions, though), and I'm not sure I want to set myself any ambitious goals either. Okay, I will set a few goals: I want to record at least a couple of podfics, and I would love to finish that Big Bang story--it's a science fiction due South story where I'm quite fond of the worldbuilding.

Ett extremt dyrt och livsfarligt sätt att värma vatten by Åsa Moberg [An extremely expensive and dangerous way of heating water]
A book about nuclear power; from the title you can conclude that this book is against it. I didn't actually know much about nuclear power, and now I know a lot more.

Méchanique: A Tale of the Circus Tresaulti by Genevieve Valentine
For my fannish book club. Opinions were divided on this book--I didn't really connect with it. It's rather dark magical steampunk (with no actual instance of steam power) set in a depressing post-apocalyptic world which the circus travels through; also there's dub-con body modification. The story-telling is non-linear and felt rather distant to me. There's a stylistic thing which I couldn't un-see once I noticed it: the author puts sentences within parentheses a lot.

Understanding Linguistics: The Science of Language by John McWhorter (audio lecture series from The Teaching Company)
There's some stuff I already knew here, but also some cool stuff I didn't know. I liked the lecturer, too.

Also, I am finished with most of Yuletide (meaning that I've gone through all the fandoms that caught my eye, read almost everything under 5K words, and put the rest on my ereader)! I have failed to post recs, though. /o\

It's posting day over here, obviously. : ) Anyway, some of my housemates are doing something called New Year's Bingo, where you make a bingo card with 25 things to do in the new year, and then cross things off during the year. It seemed a fun thing to do, so I'm going to try it! Here are mine:

My list )

My aim is to not include things that I know for sure I'll be doing anyway, but to have things that will feel like a little bit of an achievement if I do them. And also to have fun things on there, too, not just serious stuff. You will notice that I have four slots left. Any ideas? : )

I'm tagging this "meme", since it's a RL meme, apparently, and it would be cool if it caught on here, too.
