New Year's + Yuletide reveal

1) I had a great New Year's! A friend took me along to a small party, and there was very little booze, and spontaneous singing and storytelling. Also someone reciting their fan poetry for The Dispossessed. A good party, Y/Y?

2) Yuletide reveal: I wrote The Dark Places of Gont (Tenar and Ogion gen, Earthsea books). It's the first thing I've written all year, so I was surprised and relieved at how easy it was to write and that I actually had something to say in the fandom (I've never written in it before, and it's always intimidating to write Le Guin fic). ETA: Sorry, I forgot to credit espresso_addict as a very helpful beta! It was good to get some feedback since it was my first fic in the fandom.

Also I recorded a short pinch hit for due South Seekrit Santa, for malnpudl.

Er, well. All my posted fics except for the Yuletide story are abandoned WIPs. I have two long unposted due South WIPs left, one of which I will certainly not finish, and one which I would like to finish, but it's doubtful whether I will. I hope to post both during the year, anyway. And it would be nice to write something else, too--I hope something grabs me.

I recorded 2h 18m of podfic during the year. I'd hoped to do more, but oh well. I've got one long due South podfic collaboration which I really want to finish next year--I need to recruit one more person for it, and then edit. And I hope to keep a toe in the podfic pond and record some other things as well.

Year's bingo for 2015

In the beginning of the year I set up a 5x5 card with 25 goals for the year, and this is how I did! I crossed off fourteen things, did five things partly, and did not at all do six of the things. Overall I think this is an excellent meme, and I'm going to do it next year as well. I like it better than a traditional New Year's resolution because you can mix big things and small things, boring necessary things and fun things. Also it's okay to let some goals go entirely--you don't need to cross off all the things.
