Yay, podfic!
Nov. 9th, 2008 07:13 pmMy voice is better now, and I can record podfic again! I'm taking it slow, though--not more than 20 minutes a day. Here's one of my own stories. It's felt kind of weird in the past to record my own stories, but this one felt just fine.
Title: Civilization
Pairing: Fraser/Kowalski
Rating: NC-17
Format: mp3, 128 mbps
Length: 42:48 minutes, 39.2 mb
Notes: This is a post-CotW story, and the podfic is for
andeincascade, because she suggested that I record it in her comment on the story.

Date: 2008-11-17 09:43 am (UTC)Anyway, I popped on here to tell you I've been listening to all of your podfics that I happen to have (not sure if I've missed any besides this) in the last few days...more than once, in fact. And am just loving your podfics all over again.
(I'm taking some pronunciation notes for you when I am able, but most of the time I am either sculpting or painting and my hands are messy, so I can't always. But sooner or later I'll have them all assembled for you.)
Your podfics are getting me through a tough week in art school.
Also, thank you so much, darling, for the wonderful podfic you recorded for my birthday. I know I thanked you already, but am not sure if I'd actually listened to it at that point. It's terrific! And it means so much to me. \o/
HUGGGGS! And thank you, thank you! I adore podfic more than can be textually rendered.

Date: 2008-11-17 10:39 am (UTC)I am so glad that you're enjoying my podfics and that they're helping you in the art cave! And I would so love to get your pronunciation notes some time. I think I've learned the one about not pronouncing the "b" in words like "thumb", anyway. I'm recording a long podfic in Ray POV now, and I think my pronunciation might actually be better in Ray POV. I sound more American, as far as I can tell. It feels easier to read Fraser POV, but it seems to bring out some kind of hybrid accent in me.
As you may or may not have seen, I wore out my voice while teaching some time ago, and I'm having my vocal cords checked out tomorrow. Hopefully there's nothing wrong with them, but I'll anyway try to get some kind of speech therapist to teach me how to use my speaking voice better (it's weird, because I think I use my voice all right while singing, but apparently that doesn't carry over into my lecture mode). I'm taking it slow with the podficcing until then.
I look forward to seeing some of your art at the end of the semester! *hugs*
