It is the season for annual meetings

luzulaI am more tired and stressed out than I've been for a while, and it is the time of year for annual meetings in organizations. These two things may be connected.
Today I was chairperson of the annual meeting of local syndicalist union. It went well, although dragged on for hours because of some controversial debates. At one point there was an equal vote where I was called on to break the tie, which took me by surprise because I had been busy doing chairperson-type things and not actually thinking about which side I would have voted for (I was abstaining from voting otherwise). Ack. Soooooo tired now. But several people complimented me on my chairing of the meeting! \o/
(OTOH I missed fannish book club meeting because of the dragged-out-ness. /o\)
Now I am at my parents' place because it's my mom's birthday, and my sister and her little kid is also there to visit. I'm really glad to be there and hang out with them even though I'm so tired, because otherwise I would keep rehashing the meeting in my head even though I actually did nothing to regret. Brain, why do you do this. (Annual meeting in my environmental organization is in two weeks.)
Oh, and also: our party yesterday went really well! My social anxieties around it were unfounded, and a fair number of friends turned up and also they got along well together. <3
