This is being both an impressive amount of research reading and some really fascinating history—thank you for writing it all up :D Anne Erroll does indeed sound very cool. Interesting also how women were able to use their enemies' sexism—the assumption that of course they wouldn't be important political players, etc.—to their own advantage in avoiding suspicion.
