I don't think I'd have written quite that much if I wasn't doing Get Your Words Out With the goal of writing 150K during the year, where you track your word counts in a spreadsheet. It's definitely making me productive--but I think one frustrating aspect of it is that it's hard to get credit for editing. Like, editing is obviously necessary writing work, but it doesn't often lead to a tangible word count that I can put in the spreadsheet. Of course, I suppose I could make my own rules and count what I want to count, and add in a word count for editing as well.
