Yuletide OMG!

I finally worked up the nerve to click on my assignment, and it turns out I can write it! Yay! I am a little bit intimidated by it, and I'll need to re-acquaint myself with canon, but I do have a story idea in my head and even a character who is talking to me! In fact, the character is talking to me so much that I keep getting distracted and thinking about the story instead of thinking about work. Which is a good sign for my story, if not for the seminar I'm supposed to hold tomorrow.

How about you all? *bounces with Yuletide excitement*

Hey, that's awesome! Yes, I'm excited! I even have something in mind, but I need to spend some time with the source canon to see if it will work.

Took a peek at mine today, since I had to catch up with NaNo first or panic.

It's going to be a challenge this year, since I got one of the fandoms I added to my offers in a "sure why not?"-type of way (also, the Yuletide letter of my recipient intimidated me a little, but I'm sure that's just me overreacting), but I'm still pumped up and giddy about it, so no worries :D

I find that the most interesting fics I write for others are in fandoms I'm not super into myself - it allows me to focus more on the recipient's wishes, than on what I personally adore about the canon, seeing as those two not always overlap.

That is awesome! There's few feelings greater than when you discover you've written something you're actually pleased with :D

I just passed the 41k mark on my NaNo, so soon I'll be able to dig into Yuletide too, wheee! (As well as finish that fanfic-advent-calender for my little sister - so much fun to be had!)
