Self-reccing for
akamine_chan's snowflake challenge. Since I'm doing my year's end review soon, I'll pick a couple of works from previous years, one for each type of fanwork I've done.
Fic: Missing Pages: Caroline leaves something behind. Written for
ds_flashfiction's diary challenge. due South, Fraser and Caroline gen, 1000 words, PG (AO3 link)
This story made me cry when I wrote it. It's about Fraser finding his mother's journals, and there's also a scene with Dief that I love.
Podfic: Sometimes on the Rarest Nights by
clionaeilis (Gosford Park, Mabel Nesbitt and Ivor Novello gen, G, 48m)
This is quite a rare fandom, and I have to admit that I haven't actually seen the movie it's based on. I still love the story, though--it's a story about a friendship, about two people being quietly good for each other through the years, and it warms my heart. It's also an epistolary story, and I love to podfic those. There's something about reading a letter which allows you to get into the letter-writer's POV in an interesting way, and I loved reading Ivor Novello (although I have no idea if I sound like the actor in the movie, or like the real man, for that matter).
Filk song: The Mountie and the Skogsrå: A Fraser/Victoria ballad, based on a traditional Swedish medieval ballad. due South, PG-13
This kind of music is very close to my heart--I've listened to and sung Swedish folk music since I was young, and I loved bringing it together with the due South world.
