Back in Sweden

Oh God, I am so jetlagged. It's 6:45 am for my body and I only managed to sleep a little on the plane. And now I have to wait at Stockholm Central Station for two hours for a friend who I am going to stay with tonight. And before that I had a 24-hour train trip from San Fransisco to Seattle (although I did have a good night's sleep at a hostel before leaving the country).

Also, I am suffering from fangirl withdrawal. I mean, my life at home is full and satisfying in many ways, but the fannish part of me just doesn't get any RL interaction, and now I've had a month of it. It was glorious, but now it's over.

Hmm, the last part of my trip: the highlights were the redwoods and a three-day visit with malnpudl, and both of those felt like such a gift. Too tired to put up photos, but Inga said that she would put of photos of landscapes and people, since I'd only posted about plants. : )

What else? *rummages in jet-lagged brain* Wrote 500 words of asexual Fraser on the plane, and now I have 13,000 words of it. (Hmm, could that fic possibly make it to 20,000? If so, I might use it as my big bang.) Read epic-length Pride and Prejudice fic. Bought lots of good food at Pike Place Market which I brought as travel food (the hostel was right next to the market).

Yes, they are! They made me feel all reverent. And also, in a process that made total sense in my head, gave me an idea for a vid about Darwin. Guess I'll have to bid for a vidder at the next fan auction...

Ha, I don't think of myself as writing fast! It's weird--I always feel surprised when I manage to write at all, even though I have demonstrably written over 100 stories. Maybe it's because I started writing fiction just five years ago--I never thought I could write it before.

Thank you! Yes, I do have several fics in progress, and after that I have a list of fic ideas that will someday be written. I just need to stop procrastinating...

Safely back home is good; fangirl withdrawal is bad. The same circumstances go for me. RL seems rather muted now, "like a copy of a copy" after BP...and it must be even more intense for you, since you were able to extend your fangirling past the Con.

Yeah, I feel so lucky that I was able to stay so long! Unexpected benefits of unemployment. *g*

And I don't know, I don't find it muted, because it has other rewards--it's just a different life. I do wish I could have the fangirl life without having to travel so far for it. Ah well.

Heh, I THOUGHT it was a response to "after BP," but then I came down with a sore throat and got an elevated temperature, and now I'm thinking about Fraser's ponderings on "mistaking one thing for another" when he said "I thought I was in love once, and then later I thought maybe it was just an inner-ear imbalance".

Gosh, I have so much sympathy for your jet lag! Also the feeling you get when you return from being with people who share your special interest, and find real life rather strange on the return.

My jet lag is all gone now! And I think I'm re-adjusting to normal life, although I would really appreciate some sort of teleporting machine to be able to visit people more easily.
