Yuletide + watch a movie with me?

1) Right, so I got my Yuletide assignment. And okay, first I hyperventilated a bit before I dared to click on it, but okay, that is totally doable! In fact, I can use an old WIP that I have 4000 words written of already, since the recipient is very open in their request. Heh, in fact I offered that fandom with just the thought of maybe being able to use that story, and I don't have to re-familiarize myself with canon first, either. \o/ So hopefully that should not be too stressful, although I should know better than to say that.

2) Does anyone want to watch Bullitt with me? I want to watch it for the due South connection--it's not even remotely C6D, but Ray Kowalski's crush on Steve McQueen is basically canon, and I have never seen a Steve McQueen movie. I thought it might be interesting. Is the C6D-watching chat group still doing Flashpoint, btw?

I don't think I can watch it *with* you due to time constraints, but I just wanted to put in a vote that there are several Steve McQueen movies I think are just so, so, so good. I can barely think about them without squeeing. "Bullitt," yes, but that's maybe not even his best. If you end up liking it, try also "The Great Escape" (actually, knowing what I know about you like, I think you'll /really/ like this one) or "Le Mans" or even "Papillon" (but "Papillon" will require both time and tissues, beware). Man, his movies are all just soooo iconic. I'm almost envious that you're only discovering him now!

I am not much of a movie-watcher, so there are so many classic movies I haven't seen. It's not that I don't enjoy movies--I definitely do--it's just that there is a bigger mental hurdle to get over for me to watch something compared to when I read. Reading just comes more naturally.

Is that the chat group that was doing due South rewatches on Tumblr earlier this year? That looked super fun.

If you do get a group to do it, I would be interested because I also have never seen a Steve McQueen movie, and Ray Kowalski having a crush is more than enough to make it sound like a good idea. Plus, I've been watching a lot of old movies lately, and liking them more than anything coming out in the theatres.

I don't know the Tumblr crowd at all, so no? There was a due South chat rewatch group, but it was over a year ago, and after we finished due South we moved on to Slings and Arrows and other stuff. Currently it's been doing Flashpoint, which I don't watch.

Oops, missed comment! /o\ I'll let you know when I get around to watching it and and we can try to find a time that fits people (which will probably be late morning or afternoon in the weekend US time, since I'm on European time).

I was a part of the C6D chat group when it watched due South a while ago, and then it went on to other stuff, some of which I participated in. But I'm pretty sure they're still doing Flashpoint now.
