OMG, I am in love!

The cord of my headphones was all glitchy, so I had to get a new pair. Which I was not looking forward to, because I have very specific tastes in headphones. I want headphones that enclose the ear, that do not press too hard on my head, that are open and let sound through (this has a huge effect on the sound quality) and that have a warm and full sound in the mid-range (I don't care much about the oomph of the bass, because I listen to a lot of acoustic and vocal music). I spent over an hour testing different pairs at my local Big Electronics Store, and was lucky enough to get someone to help me who was a major headphones geek (heh, I think he enjoyed having a picky customer). And finally I found the perfect pair (Audio-Technica AD700)! OMG, I love them. ♥ Very comfortable, and they have this wide-open sound that I just fell in love with.

Er, I am not sure if that actually interested anyone, but I am all happy about it, so. Now if I can just do some writing, and then fix my weird Ubuntu problem... *fails at accessing the Grub menu at start-up*

Hey, there's nothing like finding exactly the right thing to make my day, too. For instance, I've just acquired forty double-packs of chemical handwarmers, and it's almost better than the election!

And yeah, given that I use my headphones several hours a day, it makes such a difference to have ones I really like.
