General update

1) Okay, so maybe you're wondering how the job interview went, and I'm not sure what to tell you? I thought they were going to make up their minds at once, but no, I misinterpreted that, and it'll be a week or two. It all felt...okay, I guess? There was one (perfectly reasonable) question that really brought out my insecurities, which is resulting in me not wanting to think about the whole thing. I know I'm blowing that out of proportion. /o\ On the whole I feel like the place I'm at now felt more immediately welcoming when I first was interviewed there, but that might just be because I already knew people at the department. Ah well. *hides under a rock for now*

2) I am down in the south visiting my sister and my best friend over the weekend, and it is so good to see them both. ♥ Yes, it would indeed be good to live closer to them. Also I spent five hours today with exeterlinden talking non-stop about fandom and doing mutual beta-reading, which was excellent. Also, I think she got me unstuck on my dSSS fic, which, yes!

3) I just watched Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid for the first time with my sister, and okay, yes, I loved it. It felt like an unusual movie, in a good way? *goes to look for the threesome fic that must surely exist*

And eeeeee, Butch and Sundance! ♥ ♥ ♥ It's such a sad film, taken just at face value for the events, but it's so intense and fun and joyful, I just love watching it. And it is just the most OT3 of movies, isn't it? There's a smattering of OT3 fic for it on the AO3. Gosh, I just love it so. And I love that I now get the references to it in due South.

And yeah, it really is not subtle with the OT3 stuff, is it? Like, it's right there on the screen. Hmm, are there other references to it in due South than the jump-into-the-lake scene?

I don't think so, although the ending, "I figured secretly you wanted to know, so I told you," made me think of dS. I feel like the spirit is the same, in some of the scenes like that.

Definitely an unusual movie. The first time I saw it, I had so much confused!face happening at the 3 minute bike interlude while Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head played. It's a very special film, bittersweet and beautiful. Sadly I've only seen a tiny bit of OT3 fic.

Ha, yeah, that scene was weird at first. I liked what it did with Butch and Etta, though, the way it established that they have a connection, too? And yeah, I'm making my way through the small amount of fic...

Oh yay, I'm glad you got some new words! I haven't had any writing time yet, but I will have tomorrow, and hopefully I'll get some new words then, too.
