Reader: [personal profile] luzula
Fandom: Patrick O'Brian's Aubrey-Maturin series
Characters: Jack, Stephen, and Diana gen
Rating: PG-13
Length: 1 h 17 m 26 s
Author's summary: Jack Aubrey is sent out in another small ship in order to convey Stephen on a secret mission. He takes some of his old crew along, to the disgust of one of the non-coms.

Notes: This is honestly one of the most canon-like stories in this fandom that I have read, and I sincerely recommend it. It uses POB's omniscient POV to good effect, and I absolutely love Diana here. Also, it was such a delight to read! I'm pretty happy with how it came out. Thanks to [personal profile] riverlight for beta-listening and catching mispronounced words for me!

Yayyy! I agree, this is very canon-like. I adore AUs (remember [personal profile] astolat's?) but it takes real skill to do canon justice. And you did a marvellous job reading this one, I thought. :)

Eeeeee!

I just got around to listening to this and it is so amazing. I have been craving something exactly like this without knowing it. I've been rereading the books by listening to the audiobooks (which are great by the way) and I agree that this has a very canon-like feel. I think your particular sort of understated way of reading goes particularly well with this world. And eventhough it's technically omniscient and not him directly, I think your Stephen-voice is brilliant.
