Spontaneous poetry reading
Aug. 24th, 2013 12:20 pmFor no particular reason, here's me reading Gerard Manley Hopkins' Spring and Fall: To a Young Child. Struck by inspiration, I guess? Although I ought to be finishing my big bang draft.
I dunno, maybe the adult being bitter shines through a little too much in lines 5-8 in the reading? But that's the way I was feeling it when I read it, so. Comments on the reading welcome. : )

Date: 2013-08-24 02:15 pm (UTC)Interestingly, I've always thought of it in my head read much quicker, and with more stress on the rhythm, but now that I think about it I'm not sure I've ever actually heard it read out loud. And it's so cool to hear another interpretation than the one in my head, if you know what I mean :) Thanks again!

I love hearing many different versions of poems--Librivox has a fun project where lots of people record a poem of the week, and then it's posted as an anthology.
