luzulaHi, secret fanwork-creator! I only put the bare minimum into my sign-up, so if you want more info, here you go. I'll try to give a sense of what I'd enjoy for each character or pairing and what I don't want, but please don't feel constrained by any of the specific suggestions. Just have fun with your creation and I am sure I will love it!
1) Bob Fraser, Buck Frobisher, Caroline Fraser (Bob/Buck/Caroline, Bob/Caroline, Bob/Buck, Buck/Caroline)
Any relationship configuration is fine with me here as long as there is love and fondness of some sort between them all! You could do gen if you don't feel like focusing on any pairings, or Bob/Caroline + Buck/Caroline with Bob and Buck as friends and partners, or prior Bob/Buck with Caroline coming in later, or whatever you like! There are so many possibilities.
You could do something angsty if that's what you want (canon is angsty, after all, what with Caroline dying), but you could also ignore the angst and do romance or light-hearted, goofy casefic. Or an AU in which Caroline doesn't die! That would also be awesome. Feel free to include Benton or not. As long as all three of them are there somehow (even if only by letter or in someone's thoughts) I will be so happy.
2) Janet Morse (Janet Morse/Benton Fraser)
There's so little fic about these two, and I'd love to explore what their relationship could be like. I think they're hot together, so if you want to write me some sex, I'd love that. Or maybe you could write a casefic where they team up and there is sexual/romantic tension? Maybe Janet chases someone into Canada and ends up working with Fraser? What are the similarities and differences between Fraser and Janet? If you don't want to write shippy fic, I'd also love gen. And if you only matched on Janet and genuinely don't want to write about Fraser as well, gen fic about Janet would also be completely fine with me! How did she become a bounty hunter, for example?
3) Denny Scarpa (Benton Fraser/Ray Kowalski/Denny Scarpa, Benton Fraser/Denny Scarpa)
Yeah, this was indeed inspired bysage's example sign-up. *g* Uh, I guess I mostly want porn here. I'd love to see Denny playing games and seducing them both, or them playing games with each other. Or if you're not an F/K shipper, you could go with the Benton Fraser/Denny Scarpa pairing instead. If you want to do gen and are scratching your head at this, I am also perfectly happy to see her playing games in other ways! What's going on in her head during the episode? What's her opinion of Fraser? For something completely different, I'd also love to see Denny playing poker with Victoria in Vegas. *g*
I hope this gives you some ideas! If you want to know more about my general tastes, I like most genres, for example: romance and sex, plotty gen, light and funny stories, fairly dark stories. My do-not-wants are: non-con, incest, and relationships with one person underage and one much older. Another thing that does not work for me is jealousy/possessiveness written as a kink or as something positive. I realize that might naturally come into a Fraser/Kowalski/Denny Scarpa fic, and I would be fine with a bit of it there! Just not something really heavy, with someone trying to claim "ownership" of someone else. If in doubt, ask someone who knows me!
I am fond of plotty stories, magical realism, landscape descriptions, and epistolary/documentary stories (but don't feel like you necessarily have to work these elements in). Oh, and I would definitely be as happy with podfic as with fic for all of these! Although I realize these are pretty rare characters/pairings, so it might not be that easy to find stories to record (er, if you wanted record something I myself have written for any of these characters/pairings, that would be an awesome gift!). Repods are also perfectly lovely gifts, by the way. : )

Date: 2013-09-30 06:23 pm (UTC)Something that's always mystified me a little, though I suspect the answer has to do with how exchanges worked pre-AO3: why do we have the convention of a sign-up form with a field for optional details *and* the convention that people write separate Dear Santa letters? It seems oddly redundant and complicated to me. (Yet another reason I don't write a separate letter.)

As for the Santa letter thing, I suspect that's the reason, yes. But also, it's fun to see other people's requests? At least I think so. And for Yuletide, it also helps when people browse around looking to write treats/Yuletide Madness stories.
