Life update in list form

1. I have a new job! It's a post-doc position in Umeå, which is in the north of Sweden. It's not quite my area, but I hope I can learn some new things, and the department seems like a really nice place. And I have a couple of friends living there, so I won't be in a social vacuum. Plus my boyfriend is moving with me. All in all: \o/. Though I shudder to think of the actual process of moving.

2. I haven't (yet) gotten reading burnout from DS Match! I think it's because I've had so much other stuff going on in my life, so that the reading was a way of relaxing from that. *looks forward to reading the few I've got left*

3. The pain in my hands is neither rheumatism nor carpal tunnel syndrome. And I got a letter from the doctor which basically said that, and then "I hope your problems are better now". WTF? I've had them for years, and they are not suddenly better just because you can't diagnose them. Grr.

1. Yeah, it's kind of exciting. I've basically lived in the same city my whole life (except for two years in Seattle when I was a kid), so moving to a new one feels strange for me.

Yeah, I really hope I'll like it there and that I'll be able to get some work done.

Hmm, yes. Getting a second opinion might be a good thing...although I doubt they'll come to a different conclusion on the rheumatism and carpal tunnel syndrome. But they might be able to think of something else.
