A fictional (obviously) memoir of the Lady Trent, who pioneered dragon research in the 19th century. Awww, I am charmed. If you want good light entertainment, I recommend this.
The Tree Climber's Companion by Jeff Jepson
I splurged on new climbing equipment recently, and also bought this. It's very good and very practical in its approach! Although being me, I can't help but snigger at lines like "then install a false crotch" and "success can be greatly improved by focusing on the target crotch!"
Frans och Lars: Kärlek och klasskamp på 1890-talet [Frans and Lars: Love and Class Struggle in the 1890's] by Kalle Holmqvist
Aww, I love this. ♥ This is the story of the first two Swedish men who were sentenced for sodomy, in the 1890's. You might think this had been going on longer (the sentencing that is; pretty sure the sodomy has been going on for forever), but actually people had not been punished for this in Sweden before. I really like how this book is unashamedly political and also gives a lot of context: about the city at that time, about the working class, about the legal system, about the historical sources.
