Podfic collaboration

Some time ago (a fairly long time ago, it feels like), I was talking about collaborating on a podfic of The Land of Lost Content by desireearmfeldt and, hmm, another author who seems to have orphaned the work. mific wanted to do Fraser, and I seem to remember andeincascade expressing interest in Stella? Possibly malnpudl was involved in the idea as well? I hardly remember any more. Anyway, I recorded all the Kowalski parts, and they have languished in my WIP folder. But it seems a shame to never finish this! I am convinced it would make a great podfic, especially with the soundtrack.

So. I am emailing the people whom I asked originally--are you guys interested? And if you're someone else who's reading this and are interested in taking part (all the original people might not still be interested), please chime in. : )

Did you have a timeframe? I can try and get it done before Christmas, as January will be impossible for me.

Also, did you want it in any particular format?

Mific will record in January, so it's not like it will all be done right now. Actually, if you do (say) half before Christmas and half in February, that's also good, because I can start editing together it all from the beginning. So it's not like it's all or nothing. But yes, please do start recording now!

I'd prefer wav files.

I am sooo overcommitted right through to mid-January. I could probably do it after that, but if someone else wants to and can contribute sooner you should go with them. Sorry - but December/early Jan is always a killer for me.

This podfic has taken so long anyway--what's two more months? Unless someone else turns up and really wants the Fraser part, I'm fine with waiting. And you'll make a great Fraser.

Okay, sure. But if someone does turn up and is very keen, feel free to rearrange it and let me know. Are you going to post about how we do it, when we do it? Like, do we just record that characters "lines" and clean it up a bit to get rid of bloopers etc, then send you the mp3?

And yeah, I can edit together the parts. You can either send me one mp3 for each letter, or do it all in one long mp3, with something to show me where the divisions between letters are (like, a handclap or a longer pause or something).

Hey, how are you doing with this? The Stella parts are done (by desireearmfeldt), but the Vecchio parts aren't (I need to find someone new for that).

Sorry, sorry, work's been very busy. I keep surfacing briefly from this sea of urgent things to do, thinking podfic! Fraser-part! and then I go under again. :C
But I'm hopeful that I'll be able to get onto this next week.

Oh, that's great! I will keep you in mind if one of the original people bow out (I figure etiquette dictates that they should have first choice). Hmm, I'd love to hear you read Stella, actually.

Can you email me any technical info (e.g., what file format you want to receive, any conventions you're using about the headers of the letters, etc.)?

Yeah, there's no hurry. : )

I'd like wav files, and the letters could go either in separate sound files or in the same one, separated by longer pauses. Just read the letter headers however you want, I figure it's okay if there are differences between characters.
