Tooth and Claw by Jo Walton
For my fannish book club; reread. This is not my favorite Walton book, but it is charming and I enjoyed it the second time around as well! It is basically Jane Austen except with dragons instead of humans, complete with happy (and rich) marriages for everyone at the end. My favorite part of it is how it makes class and gender systems so literal: the powerful eat the less powerful, servants have their wings bound up, maidens physically and permanently blush when they are compromised by a male getting too close to them, etc.

The Yellow Admiral by Patrick O'Brian
Not many left of these now! I love coming back to these books; in a way it's like fanfic because you basically just get more of the characters and writing that you love. In this one, Jack wins my heart (as if he hadn't before) by opposing the enclosure of the commons. ♥ I really ship Stephen/Diana in this book, and am delighted that their marriage is working out so well. I would also like some Clarissa/Diana, please! Why did I not realize in time that this fandom is eligible for Yuletide so I could ask for that? I think Stephen would happily share Diana with Clarissa while he's away at sea.

Also, now I can finally read this fic which I have been saving up for forever.

I do hope to read the O'Brian books one point in the future. Sadly, my only exposure to that series is the Master and Commander movie that came out some years ago.

Hot damn, 21 books? I mean, I had an idea that the number was a little past a dozen but not that much. LOL!

Anyhoo, I'll probably give the first couple of volumes a try sometime next year. ;)

The Yellow Admiral by Patrick O'Brian. Not many left of these now!

Oh but how lovely to have *any* left. I held off on reading "21" for that reason for many years, tho' there is little enough to it.
