New shoes + beta request
Feb. 28th, 2010 01:20 pmI was at a folk music festival this weekend, and had a lot of fun. I also bought myself a pair of lovely handmade dancing shoes in black leather. &hearts I am not really a shoe person--that is, I don't have many shoes, and don't look much at shoes. But what I love most in both clothes and shoes are when they are well-made and well-suited for their purpose. This is why I love my hiking boots and my anorak, and it's why I fell for these dancing shoes. I hope I'll use them a lot.
I've also written a New Year's Resolution story. It's sort of a trial run for this year's Yuletide, and it's an alternate retelling of one of the Child ballads (the one about the two sisters, one of whom is drowned and comes back as a harp). Is there anyone who wants to beta-read it for me? It's about 1300 words, and the canon is just a song, so it won't take long to read. The story is sort of like a fairy tale, and it's in prose, not in ballad form.
