I did not like this as much as I did Sunshine. Like Sunshine, it has a colloquial, talkative voice, but in this book I sometimes found the rambling more annoying than charming (also it lacks imaginative baked goods). Hmm, it feels like this book is for younger audiences than Sunshine?
Kingdoms of Elfin by Sylvia Townsend Warner
A collection of short stories. If you like 1) stories about fairies, and 2) well-written prose, you will probably enjoy this! If you are in the mood for something plot-driven, though, it is probably not for you--the charm is in the language and quirky details of setting.
