En storm kom från paradiset by Johannes Anyuru (A Storm Out Of Paradise, probably not available in English)
Book club at work has started up again and we read this book. Anyuru is a Swedish-Ugandian author who is mainly a poet, but this novel is about his father's life story. I thought it was fairly good; mainly it is about someone who is blown about by the winds of circumstance, as the title hints at (although he does have agency within that).

The History of Violence by Édouard Louis (read in Swedish, original in French)
Autobiographical story (at least I assume so) where the main character has a one-night-stand with a guy who steals stuff from him and then rapes him when confronted with it. But mainly it's about the aftermath of that and about how his story is shaped and distorted when others tell it, mainly the police and his sister, and his own reactions to that. Also about class issues. Very good, though obviously the subject matter is heavy stuff.

Okay, after those two books I need something lighter...
