300 words of asymptotically approaching the ending of my Yuletide treat; I swear there's only a few sentences left now, but they're hard to write! Got some reassuring beta feedback which also pinpointed how to fix the things I'd been worried about. My beta reader is the best. Let me know how your writing is going!

Bonnie Dundee by Rosemary Sutcliff (1953)
Another book which I reread because I have requested it for Yuletide and wanted to refresh my memory. And it was very much worth rereading! Sutcliff is one of those authors of whose writing I can be keenly envious—OMG, to write descriptions like that… *pines* I have no ideas for writing Jean and Darklis myself, but I eagerly anticipate seeing if anyone has written it for me as a gift.

Hornblower’s Lost Honour by sanguinity (2022)
This is a novel-length Bush/Hornblower fic which has been posted over the course of the autumn/winter, and which I have been greatly enjoying! If I have to categorize it, I suppose I would say "angst with a happy ending". But it's one of those fics where the angst takes time to resolve, and everything is not just magically okay when people kiss, because sometimes they just are… kind of dysfunctional. Or one of them is, anyway. So if you want to wallow in something like that, I recommend it! And it's definitely not all angst, it's also funny and tender and hot and in general has some great writing.

What If? 2 by Randall Munroe (2022)
Like a book-length XKCD comic with lots of science geekery, and enjoyable as such.
