This and that
Apr. 24th, 2015 11:53 pm1) The interview in the shared house I went to last weekend did not pan out. The location was great, but I don't want to live in a room other people need to walk through. Nope.
2) I've decided against the shared house that two of my current housemates are planning to start. I went there to see the place today, and: the commute is too long, it's too close to a highway, the house needs too much work before it's habitable, I don't want to get economically involved in the project. I felt bad about telling them--I do like them and like living with them. But I also feel relieved! I hadn't realized how much I'd felt stressed out about that decision. I feel less stressed out about house-hunting in general right now--I do have three months to go before I have to move. Surely I will find something.
3) I got an email from my ex-boyfriend, and stared at it like it was a snake before I opened it. I haven't talked with him for a year and a half, and don't really want to. But he only wanted to know my address so he could return my Latin textbook and dictionary. Whew.
4) I can cross off the item "make a new friend" from my New Year's bingo list! \o/ It's a woman at work whom I've been wanting to get to know, and now I have! She's geeky and likes sf/f and left-wing politics.

(BTW, there's a job in Stockholm I'm thinking about applying for! It looks great in all ways except that it's a 2-year contract. I really want my next job to be at least 3 years.)

Date: 2015-04-25 09:17 pm (UTC)And I guess I can always stay with my parents for a while if I don't find anything, though I really hope I won't have to.

Date: 2015-04-26 12:24 am (UTC)Maybe you can find something with a nice little yard, where you can grow a patch of flowers, and watch the bees. :D
