Rimrunners by C. J. Cherryh (audiobook)
More SF in the Alliance-Union verse. This one sticks to one person rather than having many POV:s like Downbelow Station; she's a space marine who got separated from her ship and has to make her way on a backwater space station and then on a ship which is the enemy of her former ship. It's good, but it's not my favorite Cherryh--I didn't quite connect to the main character. My favorite non-Atevi Cherryh book so far is probably Merchanter's Luck.

Purge by Sofi Oksanen (original in Finnish, read in Swedish)
Oooof. This was good, but it's also very heavy reading. Contains: rape, murder, abuse, war, political persecution, and human trafficking. It's set in Estonia from WWII to the 90's, and is about two women who are bound together by family ties, a past treachery, and present circumstances. And it's quite complicated, in that one of the women is by no means an innocent victim; in fact she does some pretty creepy stuff. It really got under my skin.

Uh, I need to read some fluffy fic now.
