Fix things Friday
Jan. 20th, 2017 10:06 pmI'll probably do this every other week; doing it every week feels a bit spammy. During the last two weeks I have:
- Finished the annual report of our environmental organization.
- Got an op-ed published, it was another reply to the forestry dude who thinks all nature reserves should be clearcut to "save the climate". *rolls eyes*
- Gave beta feedback on two other op-ed articles.
- Sent out press release about the success I wrote about last time.
- Participated in Skype meeting to decide on time and place for the annual meeting of our environmental organization.
- Wrote a motion for the upcoming annual meeting of my syndicalist union together with one other person; it's about splitting up the paid administrative work so three people instead one person will do it.
- Finalized the introductory folder which is sent to new union members.
- As usual, lots and lots of emailing.

Date: 2017-01-21 11:02 am (UTC)Anyway, I got a reply published saying he is completely neglecting the values of protecting wild ecosystems, but also he is 1) not telling people that a large proportion of Swedish forestry products are paper and pulp, which are short-lived products that take a lot of energy to make and have no climate benefit whatsoever, 2) not mentioning the carbon debt you get when you use forest biofuels (because it takes time for forests to grow). Also he is not taking into account that we need to use less resources overall.
