Greenwitch by Susan Cooper (#3 in the Dark is Rising series)
Reread. I hardly remembered this one at all, really, but I liked it a lot, especially that Jane plays such an important role. I also liked the outside view of Will after having been in his head the whole previous book. Also I am fond of Rufus the dog--my family had an Irish setter when I was young.

I've been exposed to the court system since I'm handling the administration of a couple of court cases for my environmental org, and then I ran across this book. The author has written a really good book about social movement strategies and I was curious to see what he'd say about the law. Basically this is a short introduction to the sociology of law, written in a very accessible way, and I found it interesting.

I feel similarly about Greenwitch - I love that it centers the female perspective and that we get to see what Will is like from the POV of the other kids. (Dark is Rising itself is still my favourite of the series, though.)

I will watch out for your thoughts on The Grey King in that case. I love all of them, but I do have that distinct favourite - though I have a thing with exactly The Grey King as well, despite having bitter-sweet feelings about the ending.
