The Mars books are an SF trilogy of brick-like books about the colonization of Mars, which have very interesting politics and science, and also characters I love.
The Dark Is Rising are beloved YA fantasy classics, which do hold up for me still as an adult, although I can't guarantee the experience would be the same reading them for the first time as an adult.
The Paksenarrion trilogy is fantasy, about an asexual female soldier and her coming of age and finding her purpose in the world--I think they're inspired by medieval saint's legends. They're comfort reading for me; there's just something restful about the total lack of romance.
