General update
Mar. 21st, 2018 06:58 pm1) I'd thought about doing Jukebox, but now that I look at what people are nominating, I'm hardly familiar with any of the songs. Hmmm. Maybe I should skip that one and do Night on Fic Mountain instead? I am amused by their overly cautious description: The challenge takes place during the middle of the year, at a time which may or may not be considered summer for some people. I would venture to say that the middle of the year is definitely summer for some people.
2) I had a cold that developed into sinusitis and was miserable for a few weeks; now I am fine again and tired of winter. It's been below freezing for weeks here, though mostly only icy and annoying, not much actual snow. I've been reading the back issues of an entomological magazine and longing for spring to come so I can geek out on butterflies and bees and all the other critters. Also plants, of course. Although one thing I've done during the winter is to sort my moss specimens and pick some new ones (moss doesn't wither in the winter), so my moss herbarium now has 114 species. \o/
3) I was at the annual meeting of my environmental organization, and it was lovely to hang out with everyone. I chaired the meeting, which I'd been looking forward to since quitting the board last year, and several people said I did a good job of it. \o/ I ended up doing the accounting in 2018 (like being treasurer except I'm not on the board), since several people were not happy with the person who'd been doing it last year. Would have preferred not to, but at least I bargained away some other things--I'm not doing the newsletter or taking care of the email adress for public queries anymore.

Date: 2018-03-21 06:31 pm (UTC)I don't know any of the songs either -- I rarely know very many (tbh I use Jukebox as a way to find things to listen to). But I'm planning to nominate at least Scarborough Fair, and you could nominate ballads too... I know Demon Lover has shown up in the past, and maybe Tam Lin too?

Date: 2018-03-22 07:44 pm (UTC)Something else entirely, I guess? It's shoeboxes full of mosses in little folded-up papers--I'll take photos some time. : )
