I seem to be an audiobook roll. I think I got the rec for this one from
isis? The narrative voice as interpreted by the audiobook reader is very enjoyable, though I sometimes blanked out a bit during action scenes and then wondered what was going on. But maybe that was my own inattention.
The Primeval Forests of Finland by Petri Keto-Tokoi and Timo Kuuluvainen
Lovely and substantial coffee-table book. I skimmed the chapters on ecology and biodiversity since I knew most of it, but the historical stuff was interesting, especially on slash-and-burn agriculture, which seems to have been going on much longer in Finland than in Sweden, and also the shape of the conservation debate and the similaries and differences compared to Sweden.
