I have been traveling a lot over the last week. First I went to Öland to bike around for three days. The point was not actually the biking--I am a very slow biker--but looking at various flora and fauna. Soooo much interesting stuff to see. I am now over 3000 species on the species reporting database! \o/

Then I went to Uppsala for a board meeting of my environmental organization. It went well, and the next day we got our reward as we went to a really lovely forest with some species you only find in that area. Then I went back to my home town, but stayed with my parents so that the next day my dad could take me bird-watching, a birthday present trip where we went all up and down the Halland coast checking out the migrating waders. Unbelievably, I saw eight bird species I've never seen before. Such a lovely present.

And then yesterday and today I went to a job conference in Västerås. It was interesting, though I was stuck with boring people during dinner and I couldn't really get away. Now at least I will stay home until Monday...

I am behind on writing up books, here are a few:

The Covert Captain: Or, A Marriage of Equals by Jeannelle M. Ferreira (audiobook, 2018)
F/F Regency romance. I've seen this recced by various people, and yes, I really enjoyed it. The audiobook reader was good, too. It has a rather low-key style that I enjoyed. I don't read much romance (except for fanfic), and I saw negative reviews on Goodreads that led me to think it doesn't quite follow romance conventions? If so, it's in a way that works well for me.

Skyddsvärd skog by Johan Nitare (2019)
A brick of a book that is a worthy replacement to the now out-of-print bible of how to assess conservation value in Swedish forests, by the same author. I read it cover to cover, though skimming over species that I already knew well.
