Odds and ends
Apr. 12th, 2009 11:44 amSo, if anyone has a Dreamwidth invite, I'd love to have it. I'm not particularly attached to LJ, and if the move is going to happen some time, even if it's happening slowly, I might as well get myself an account.
I signed up for
ficfinishing to finish my recently started Fraser/Victoria story. I didn't realize until I started writing it what a relief it is to be back in Fraser POV! A lot of stories I've worked on recently have been in other people's POV, and writing Fraser POV again feels like coming home or something.
Otherwise, I'm podficcing a lot. It's interesting to record in other fandoms, and if you get less feedback in rare fandoms, occasionally you get someone who's just overjoyed to have a story in their obscure fandom. Which is fun.
The boy and I have been listening to podcasts of a Swedish translation of the Kalevala (a Finnish mythological epic poem), which is a lot of fun. It's ridiculously patriarchal, but also beautifully poetic and occasionally hilarious. It's read by a Finnish-Swedish actress whose reading is to die for. Also, Finnish-Swedish is such a lovely dialect (possibly only surpassed by Swedish spoken with an Icelandic accent. Yum.)
