I don't have that much much editing to go on the alternate ending, but I'm finding it a bit difficult to settle down and do it, because I'm distracted by my next writing project. Plus I have work, obviously. And the last bits are difficult--plotting out an alternate course for the war is easy, compared to trying to imagine the political complexities afterwards! Perhaps most readers will care mostly about the love story, but I do want to get the setting right...

My next longfic will be a complicated poly fic, with Ewen Cameron/Keith Windham, Ewen Cameron/Alison Grant, and Alison Grant/OFC. I've been thinking about it for some time, so it felt good to actually start writing it! I'm a little over 10K now.

Ha ha, it occurred to me that I would only need to close the square with Keith and the OFC to get a sedoretu. And of course I'm a little bit tempted...but not for this fic. There would be so much worldbuilding fun, though!

Yes! But just realized I probably have to rewrite the scene I just wrote, because the one of the main characters would still be in formal mourning and probably not go out dancing...

(Juxtaposed with current American politics, now I have images in my head of everyone wearing black for six months for Ruth Bader Ginsburg...)

Aww, I hope the rest of the editing goes well! It certainly is an ambitious alternate history—must be both fun and challenging working out all the details :)

Awww, thank you! I'm currently writing the poly fic for an audience of one other person, so it's good to know that it will have at least one other reader. : )
