I had to go on public transport today, and as usual I was able to write there. 500 words of landscape description and feelings! \o/ Total word count: 20,700.

I have learned that I hate ending chapters. It means I need to think specifically about what's going to happen in the next one. This is not a problem I have had with this strength of feeling before!

Good work! And interesting, I don't think I have that problem. When I get stuck, it's usually around a specific plot point regardless of where it is in a chapter. But I hope you get the plot of the next chapter sorted, anyway!

Day 25: 400 words. I had worried that I'd written myself into something of a corner, and there are definitely some logistical difficulties with the climactic scene, but I'm quite pleased with what I've managed to do with it so far. We'll see how it goes on.

Good work, and I'm glad writing on the fly didn't lead to getting backed into a corner! I hope you get those logistical difficulties sorted.

Funny story--the story I'd been gutting and reworking for a 28 Feb deadline? Turns out the submission word count limit on the general submissions guidelines is 6K, but the submission guideline for the specific call I was modifying the story for was only 4.5K, meaning I was still way over.

So, I realized I had a different story, only 3.1K, that would fit the call and submitted that instead on Day 25.

I'll have to seek out a different market for the longer story. I think it's better for all the work I've done to update and streamline it, so I'm hopeful. This is a story that had been under contract to a market back in 2008 or 2009, but the magazine went under. I know it has potential. Here's hoping I can find another home for it after all this time! :-)

I also started another original short story today (Day 25). Onward!
