I will be recording Gleam in the North for Librivox now that the copyright has gone out! : D Is there anyone who is interested in being my Librivox prooflistener? You would not have to check my reading against the text. You just need to check that the intro/outro is correct, and that there are no weird editing or volume issues. You do need to get a username at the Librivox forum and comment there after listening to each chapter.

No pressure whatsoever to do it, though, since there is usually no difficulty in getting a proof listener at Librivox. But I thought I would ask in case anyone thought it would be fun. : )

Hurrah! I'm excited you'll be doing this!

How fast do you record? How much listening-time will your proof-listener likely need each week?

Yes, I tend to listen in larger batches at work -- I have a once-monthly most-of-a-day task that is good for podfic. That could very well give me enough time to proof-listen to a month of recordings, if you don't mind the throughput delays of my doing it in batches. (And if the work task comes up short, I'll make up the difference with knitting or somesuch!)

Registered and commented!

And you don't know how tempted I am to comment at the end of the last chapter, "All's well that ends well!"

Very likely! :-P

Man, BBedit forums -- I feel like I've dropped back in time by twenty years. Which is a good thing! I have fond nostalgia for them, but I feel like I'm all thumbs, remembering how these work.
