Prooflisten to Gleam in the North

I will be recording Gleam in the North for Librivox now that the copyright has gone out! : D Is there anyone who is interested in being my Librivox prooflistener? You would not have to check my reading against the text. You just need to check that the intro/outro is correct, and that there are no weird editing or volume issues. You do need to get a username at the Librivox forum and comment there after listening to each chapter.
No pressure whatsoever to do it, though, since there is usually no difficulty in getting a proof listener at Librivox. But I thought I would ask in case anyone thought it would be fun. : )

Date: 2023-01-05 04:50 pm (UTC)Here is their FAQ for proof listeners. All of that isn't relevant for you, though. You will be doing the standard level of proof listening. This means you have to pay attention just at the beginning and end of a recording to check that the intro and outro is correct. Otherwise, you just have to listen along and react if something sounds wrong! Please do give me timestamps, so I can easily find where to fix the file. If you notice mispronunciations, you don't have to note those according to Librivox rules, but I would be grateful to know them.
And thanks so much for the help! : D It's more fun to do it with a fannish friend, than with someone like the DPL I got for FotH, who seemed to think it had a happy ending. *boggles*

Date: 2023-01-07 08:43 pm (UTC)Man, BBedit forums -- I feel like I've dropped back in time by twenty years. Which is a good thing! I have fond nostalgia for them, but I feel like I'm all thumbs, remembering how these work.
