Notes: Thank you, yet again, to
zabira, who metaphorically held my hand and corrected my pronunciation of a couple of words. Also thank you to
spuffyduds who lets us record her wonderful stories. This story made a deep impression on me, and I really admire the way Spuffy took the sledding-into-the-sunrise ending of CotW and turned it into this painful yet so beautiful story. Yeah, and a warning: this is angsty. Feedback on my reading is very welcome.

You did a wonderful job with the story. I really enjoyed it. My only critique is that there's a persistent muffled squeak in the background that distracted me a little. It was noticeable to me 'cause I have the fancy noise-canceling earbuds...it might not be so noticeable if you're just listening at the computer, without headphones...
Anyway, I did enjoy it tremendously. Thanks for your hard work...

Date: 2007-12-29 10:11 pm (UTC)Cute accent, huh? : ) Well, I'm Swedish, but spent two years in Seattle as a child, so I'm sure my accent is a mish-mash of different influences.
Hmm, I'm aware that I don't have the best recording equipment. Actually, I record with my iRiver mp3-player, which has a decent microphone for being an mp3-player. Then I used the noise-removal on Audacity to get rid of most of the noise. I could've removed more, but that distorted the voice a bit. So it was kind of a trade-off. If it bothered you, I'll see if I can remove a little more on the stuff I'm doing next...

Nah, it was a little distracting at first, but then my mind just filtered it out. I just figured you'd want to know, so if you decided to do more recording (yes, please!) you might think about the ways to get rid of the squeak and/or other background noise...

Date: 2008-01-05 01:50 pm (UTC)I am so tired my eyes feel like they've got sand in them. I've been the chairperson (or whatever the person who leads the meeting is called) for the annual meeting of an environmental NGO that I'm active in. The meeting has run for several days and me and the other chairperson had to stay up late at nights to prepare for the meeting. It's a lot of fun but also exhausting, and I'm now grabbing some internet time. Though I think I should go sleep soon.

Date: 2008-01-17 07:52 pm (UTC)I had been so looking forward to listening to this, and FINALLY got some time alone at home. (Which, yeah, obviously I could listen on headphones when the kids are around, but doing that with porn I wrote just feels really...strange. Hee.) And it turns out that the general-jinjur hosted version is zipped and I CANNOT get an unzippy thing to work on my computer, and now of course the sendspace link, which usually works for me, has timed out. Would it be an inconvenience to sendspace it again? If so don't worry about it. But if it's easy, please please please!

I'm looking forward to hearing your opinion of the reading.
Arrgh, I'm irritated. I've moved to a new place, and I was going to bake bread, which I do a lot. Only the oven turned out not to work, so I had to run back and forth to the neighbor to bake the bread, but his oven was a different size, so I had to move the bread to his pans, and just... arrgh. But I have my bread now. *takes triumphant bite*
