candyheartsex. Welcome, and I am so happy that we share this rare fandom! I hope you have fun writing. : )
General likes: I enjoy the whole range from gen to porn, and like both happy and angsty stories. I like historical specificity, landscape description and attention paid to the setting in general, old-fashioned omniscient POV, canon-like writing style, loyalty, characters having conflicting loyalties.
General dislikes: Change-of-setting AU in historical canons (but I love canon divergence, and I also enjoy adding supernatural/fantasy elements to the canon setting), non-con/dubcon, infidelity, body horror. If you go with something angsty, I prefer for there to still be a meaning to the character's lives and not be unrelentingly dark.
The Flight of the Heron by D K Broster (any relationship)
If you have your eye on a relationship tag and want to write that one, go for it! As for prompts, I am always up for Keith/Ewen/Alison or Keith/Ewen + Ewen/Alison fic (but I obviously love Keith/Ewen too!). I'd be especially interested in seeing Alison interact with Keith, and seeing how they connect (it's not in the tag set, but feel free to go Alison/Keith as well as Alison & Keith). For something dramatic, how about a situation where Keith and Ewen are still at their enemy stage, and Alison intervenes to save Ewen and/or trick Keith in some way? I am also always up for Major Guthrie getting his comeuppance.
Kidnapped - Robert Louis Stevenson (David Balfour/Alan Breck Stewart, David Balfour & Alan Breck Stewart)
If you already have something you want to write, just go for that! As for prompts: A lot of fic is post-canon, which I have enjoyed, but I'd love to get some sexual and/or romantic tension set during the book. Perhaps one of them realizing their attraction during or after a moment of danger? Or if Davie goes to the continent to study, what do Alan's Jacobite friends make of them together? An outside POV of them would be fun, either set during the book or after. I am totally up for gen as well as slash!
"Mr Rowl" - D K Broster (Raoul des Sablieres, Hervey Barrington, all characters must be included)
I got a lovely fic for "Mr Rowl" for Yuletide, but I am greedy for more! What is Barrington thinking during canon events? What is his history and how does that affect how he reacts to Raoul? Or for something more plotty: now that Raoul will go back to France and Barrington get a ship again, what if Barrington should be captured in his turn and encounter Raoul while a prisoner? Feel free to include Lavinia, who is awesome and obviously knows that her brother is queer. I also like Juliana a lot, and you can include her too if you want. I am not into infidelity, but Raoul and Juliana don't have a commitment to each other before the end of the story, so it's fine with me if something happens between Raoul and Barrington before that and you don't mention her. Or perhaps whatever is between them is unspoken and never comes to anything? Or you could turn Raoul and Juliana's attachment into a friendship--perhaps they feel more like siblings to each other throughout the book?
Jill - E. A. Dillwyn (Kitty Mervyn/Gilbertina Trecastle)
What I enjoy most about the book is Jill’s talkative and independent POV, and her huge crush on Kitty. That said, I would also love to get Kitty's POV (how would her narration be different?), or an outside POV on them. Also, I just realized that this book is actually set fairly close to the 20th century--what would Jill and Kitty be doing during WWI, for example?
